樱桃视频College recently removed potential application barriers for transfer students by reducing the number of credit hours required to submit a high school transcript and removing the school official recommendation form from transfer student applications.

Previously, the College required transfer students with fewer than 30 credit hours to submit a high school transcript. The revised guidelines require a limit of 24 credits, consistent with other institutions.

鈥淲e were concerned that the higher number of hours might be turning some students away, especially those who have been out of high school for some time,鈥� said Justine Whitfield, director of admissions. 鈥淭his is a big win in terms of removing barriers for transfer students.鈥�

In addition, 樱桃视频no longer requires transfer students to submit a School Official Recommendation Form to the registrar, a report about the student鈥檚 behavior from their most recently attended school.聽

鈥淲e have other screening questions on the application that fulfill this function, as well as having the ability to withdraw acceptance from prospective students who give us false information on their application,鈥� said Whitfield.

Transferring to Meredith

樱桃视频has articulation agreements with the North Carolina Community College System, making it easier for transfer students to transfer credits and complete their four-year degree. These agreements include the 樱桃视频Strong Futures program, an articulation agreement with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) that provides CPCC graduates with direct, guaranteed admission to 樱桃视频and $10,000 in aid.

Other support for transfer students includes transfer-specific scholarships, individualized advising, and professional guidance from the Office of Career Planning. Smaller class sizes allow professors to get to know their students and help connect them with internships, jobs, and on-campus opportunities. And, like all 樱桃视频students, transfer students identify their top strengths and learn to build on them through StrongPoints庐, a personal advising and coaching program.

Alumna Josefina Mercedes Puello, 鈥�24, said she was grateful she transferred to Meredith.

鈥淭he faculty are truly dedicated to students, and they take their time to thoroughly teach and help each student achieve success,鈥� said Puello. 鈥淓very member of the staff I worked with always helped me get through any issues, making my life easier so I could actually focus on school and give my education my full attention.鈥�
